Words to describe the taste of the winter black truffle (Tuber melanosporum); It isn’t until you have experienced truffle in some form of culinary form that you appreciate what the Japanese refer to as Umami, ‘Translated means the essence of deliciousness’.

Expression of flavour is everything. Described in French terms as Terroir, the soil conditions and growing area gives the Périgord truffle its unique, highly desired status.

Here in the Southwest region of Western Australia we grow and harvest the winter black truffle each season from May to August.

IT’s Time to Enjoy CHANNYRIDGE TRUFFLES

Grown and harvested by a first and second generation of family farmers in the southwest region of Western Australia.

The property has been in the family since 2003 and has been progressively growing and maturing each year, currently with 8-hectares of truffle producing hazelnut and oak trees totalling ~4000 trees. and 16 hectares of producing avocado trees 

This beautiful location boasts one of the longest yearly growing seasons in the world. The areas natural growing inhabitant is the Karri tree which is designed for a rain forest environment. The natural surrounding with its undulating topography is complimented by its deep fertile karri loam, and the Mediterranean style climate gives us the perfect conditions for winter black truffle production.

We believe in authenticity and with a great work ethic have produced an excellent product driven by the love of family and the place we live.
